The Council currently acts as an agent for Hampshire County Council (HCC) in carrying out some Highway duties. These duties include applications for new disabled bays, access protection lines (new and repainting existing ones), and brown tourist signs (new and replacing existing ones), and requests for new parking restrictions. From April 2023 these Highway duties will return to Hampshire County Council, and therefore due to the length of the process, applications should be directed to HCC from 1 February 2023.

From 1 February 2023, please apply directly to Hampshire County Council, for: 

  • new disabled bays 
  • access protection lines (new and replacing existing ones)
  • brown tourist signs (new and replacing old ones)

Road maintenance issues should continue to be reported to Hampshire County Council
