Community grants up for grabs
Community grants from Winchester City Council for buildings and projects are open for applications until noon on Thursday 8 September 2016.
Not-for-profit organisations may apply for grants of over £500 for funding towards the cost of one-off projects, specialised equipment, start-ups and improvements, renovations or construction of facilities.
Portfolio Holder for Estates & Local Economy, Cllr Stephen Miller, said:
It is an ideal opportunity for not-for-profit organisations to benefit from a community grant. In my new role as Portfolio Holder, I would like to ensure that we support as many organisations across the district as possible to enhance the vital support they provide to our communities.

Melissa Fletcher, Funding & Development Officer, said:
Our project grants are awarded for all manner of projects: arts, sports, new-builds, and increasing capacity in existing structures. As long as your organisation is not for profit and benefits the residents of Winchester and district it is worth considering an application. As Cllr Miller says, this is an ideal opportunity to provide additional support to our communities.
