Winchester Party in the Park (PITP) 2016
This year’s Party in the Park event will take place at the Somers Close Recreation Ground in Stanmore on Saturday 30 July 2016 from 12pm to 5pm.
The exciting line-up of activities and performances includes a Skatepark Jam run by Maverick and an inflatable planetarium, provided by Winchester Science Centre, in which you can explore the solar system and the constellations.
On stage there’ll be a range of musical and dance performances including Zumba, belly dancing, Nepalese dancers, a marching band and solo artists. Or why not relax at the Acoustic Café in The Carroll Centre?
This family-friendly event also features a petting farm, funfair, zorbing, children’s go-karting, circus skills workshops and much more.
Local businesses, organisations and voluntary and community groups will also be in attendance promoting their goods, activities and services.
Cllr Frank Pearson, the Portfolio Holder for Environment, Health and Wellbeing said:
After the success of events held since 2011 I’m pleased that this year sees a return with a multicultural theme of music and dance. The Council is grateful to our sponsors for helping fund this fun-packed event.
Cllr Caroline Horrill, the Portfolio Holder for Housing Services added:
I'd encourage as many young people as possible to take part as it is a really great day in a safe environment. With such a broad range of activities on offer to engage and entertain children, young people and their families, there’s something for everyone.
