Walking Netball strides into Winchester
Winchester City Council, in partnership with England Netball and Places for People Leisure are pleased to announce the launch of Walking Netball sessions at River Park Leisure Centre.

Walking Netball is a slowed down version of the game with adapted rules to suit all abilities and ages within a relaxed, fun and social environment. It is a fantastic way to introduce the sport to those who have never played before, those who used to play and even for those who have suffered injuries.
The weekly sessions cost just £3 per person and run on Wednesdays from 4.00-5.00pm. They are led by a friendly walking netball host who will meet you at the Leisure Centre’s reception. There is no need to book – just show up on the day to play.
Carey McCormick, Netball Development Officer for England Netball, said
It is fantastic to be in partnership with Winchester City Council and we are delighted to be working together on the new weekly Walking Netball sessions. Huge credit to Lizzie Butcher, Winchester City Council’s Multi- Sport Activator, who is one of our passionate and enthusiastic qualified walking netball hosts and who leads these sessions.
Calum Drummond, Sports Development Manager added
One of the Council’s aims is to increase the amount of people taking part in physical activity. These new sessions have expanded our current activity programme and will give people the chance to try a fun, exciting sport on a regular basis.
