Residents invited to Whiteley development meeting
Whiteley residents, business owners and visitors are invited to attend a public meeting of the North Whiteley development forum at 6:30pm on Monday 13 November at the Solent Hotel, to hear more about local development plans.
The forum, which was established in 2010, is made up of elected representatives from Winchester City Council, Hampshire County Council, Eastleigh Borough Council, Fareham Borough Council, Botley Parish Council, Curdridge Parish Council and Whiteley Town Council. Its purpose is to help get the community involved in plans for a major new development to the north of Whiteley.
November’s meeting will update the public on various issues, such as the timetable for development, highway construction works – including between junction 9 of the M27 and Whiteley Way – and planned provision for schools and community facilities.
Cllr Caroline Horrill, Leader of Winchester City Council said:
We encourage local involvement in these public meetings and hope as many people will attend as possible so that our discussions are fruitful. We have some exciting plans for the North Whiteley area and this update will showcase a variety of new amenities that are in the pipeline. All are welcome.
