Central Winchester Regeneration draft Supplementary Planning Document to be revealed on 30 October 2017

The draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for central Winchester will be presented to the next Informal Policy Group (IPG) meeting which is being held in public on Monday 30 October 2017, from 6pm in the Bapsy Hall, Guildhall Winchester.

Representatives from JTP, the Architects and Masterplanners, who have developed the draft SPD, will give a presentation to reveal the content of all sections of the draft SPD to members of the committee and the public.

Cllr Caroline Horrill, Council Leader and Chair of the Informal Policy Group said:

Making the draft SPD public marks a significant step in the regeneration of central Winchester. The SPD will ensure that the future development is coordinated and enhances the special qualities of the City Centre and promotes Winchester’s character and heritage.

Once the draft SPD is made public, it will go through the formal council process which includes review by the Overview & Scrutiny Committee before approval to go to formal consultation is sought from Cabinet (at its meeting on Wednesday 6 December 2017).

Copies of the initial draft SPD will be available on the Council’s website from Tuesday 31 October and hard copies can be collected from WCC reception.
