Eighteen71 Café receives silver accreditation for excellent accessibility
The Eighteen71 Café has been awarded silver accreditation from– Winchester Area Access for All (WAAFA) which is a scheme assessing accessibility in Winchester area.
WAAFA is dedicated to improving general access and wheelchair access conditions for people with physical or sensory impairments in the Winchester area.
Winchester City Council is keen to improve accessibility of facilities at the Guildhall, where the Eighteen71 Café is located.
Guildhall Manager, Chris Smith said:
“Eighteen71 has always been a community café, striving to ensure it remains an open accessible environment to eat and drink for our cross range of customers. We are proud to receive this award, not only because it confirms the hard work we do to ensure the café achieves this category of accreditation, but because we are visibly seen within the community to be a safe and approachable café for those with accessibility problems. Our staff play a huge part in this, and our training is implemented in a way that goes above and beyond to help those who may need it more.”
