New parent and parent-to-be event coming to Guildhall Winchester
Guildhall Winchester is proudly supporting Bump and Boo – a new parent and parent-to-be event on Sunday 15th July.
The organisers, children’s photographer Sarah Hannibal-White of Hannibal-White Photography and Tactile Tots baby massage instructor Catherine Defty, met last year and shared their experience of being new mums and the issues that parents have finding out about local services and products for pregnancy and babies.
In a bid to address this problem, Sarah began collating the activities available each day and shared them on her Facebook page “Boo & Mummy”. The small page quickly developed into the largest parent information Facebook page in Winchester, and the idea to host Bump & Boo stemmed from the success of the online page.
The event gained the support of Guildhall Winchester and stalls were offered to local businesses, these were sold out with 62 exhibitors set to be at Bump and Boo.
Portfolio Holder for Estates, Cllr Steve Miller said:
“I am delighted our Guildhall supported this event – it’s a great help for new parents and those who are expecting a new arrival.
“Offering this support is part of Guildhall Winchester’s commitment to encouraging local business initiatives as part of our wider Council strategy to make the Winchester District a Premier Business Location.”
Bump & Boo will be officially opened by The Mayor of Winchester Cllr Frank Pearson at Guildhall Winchester on Sunday 15th July.
It starts at 10am and runs through to 4pm. Visit guildhallwinchester.co.uk for tickets and more information.
