Craig Charles’ sold out Funk and Soul Show kicks off Guildhall Winchester’s summer events
Craig Charles returned to the Guildhall Winchester with his successful Funk and Soul Show on 9 March to kick off the

spring/summer season of events.
A sell out, record breaking crowd travelled from near and far to see the ‘Red Dwarf’ & ‘Coronation Street’ star spin the decks with tracks spanning 4 decades. Craig was supported by The Soul Rays a funk band from Liverpool with a heavy influence of R’n’B and Hip Hop with Winchester born, London based DJ - Jimi Needles keeping the decks warm before and after Craig.
Guildhall General Manager Chris Smith said
Back in 2015, Craig Charles was the first artist the Guildhall ran as part of their new events programme. Things have changed a lot since then including an improved in-house sound and light system and so it was great to have Craig back to test it out.
As part of the Guildhall’s programme of events we want to make our venue the place to be in the city with all types of events big and small for the whole community to enjoy.
The Guildhall will continue to bring an exciting variety of live events to Winchester - including shows from Bad Manners, From the Jam, returning favourite Magic of Motown and tributes including Bee Gee’s - You Win Again and George Michael – Fastlove tour
All upcoming events can be found on www.guildhallwinchester.co.uk or their Facebook page Guildhall Winchester.
