Central Winchester Regeneration consultation themes and actions to be shared on 14 May 2018
Architects and master planners JTP will be at the final meeting of the Central Winchester Regeneration Informal Policy Group (IPG) to outline how the feedback from the Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) consultation will be incorporated into the final SPD. The meeting is being held in public on Monday 14 May 2018 in the Bapsy Hall, Guildhall Winchester from 6.00pm.
Cllr Caroline Horrill, Conservative Council Leader and Chair of the Informal Policy Group, said:
As we move steadily towards the adoption of this very important document, and move the project forward, we warmly welcome members of the public to come along to this meeting. JTP are giving an overview of the consultation on the draft SPD, providing an update on key themes and how they’ve impacted on the SPD, and talking through the next steps in the process and we would very much like local people to be there.
We have consulted for four months – the public have told us clearly that they want to see action and it is now time to move forward having taken comments into consideration.
Processing the vast amounts of information has been extremely informative and we are really grateful that so many people took the time to share their thoughts with us and, in so doing, are helping to shape the future of this very special site in the heart of our city.”
A final draft of the SPD,highlighting all the changes that have been made as a result of the consultation feedback, including a new ‘Climate Change and Sustainability’ objective, will be presented for adoption by Cabinet.
Delivery of the adopted SPD will be led by the ‘Cabinet (Central Winchester Regeneration) Committee’, a sub-committee of Cabinet, which will meet in public in July.
