Other Parking Facilities
Parent/Child spaces and 'dual use' bays
There are currently 16 dedicated parent/child spaces in The Brooks car park.
There are also a further 5 'dual use' bays in our Middle Brook Street car park and 6 in our Chesil Multi storey car park. It is expected that a parent/child bay is used by a vehicle which has either a booster or child seat, or is carrying children up to the age of 12.
Dual use bays allow both disabled motorists and parent/child visitors to use the same bay, if available.
Electric Vehicle or EV charging is now available at Park & Ride South, which is supplied by the Hampshire County Council scheme. Click on the link for further details.
Winchester City Council currently have two bays in Chesil Multi Storey car park (accessible 24/7), two bays within The Brooks car park (accessible between 07:30am and 6:30pm 7 days a week) and two bays in Friarsgate (accessible 24/7).
The current policy is to pay for your parking as normal, but receive free charging whilst you are visiting/working in Winchester.
The units operate on a 32Amp ‘Fast Charge’ via a 7 pin plug, which can be obtained for the majority of the current EV vehicles on the market today.
Motorcycles may park free of charge within the motorcycle parking areas withing Council car parks and on-street in permit parking places. A ticket should be purchased and displayed in on-street pay and display parking bays.
