Wi-Fi in our Sheltered Schemes
Winchester City Council has installed the internet throughout all of our sheltered schemes (not bungalows).
You will be able to connect to the internet across all communal areas and in every home too.
Getting older people online has already made positive changes to tenants’ lives by combating loneliness, improving mental and physical health, strengthening relationships with family and friends and of course learning new things. The shift from internet access being a ‘nice to have’ to being an essential part of daily life for many people is being reflected in the Government’s direction for interactions with many public service. Winchester City Council is committed to continually improving the lives of tenants through digital participation.
You will need a password to gain access to the internet, using your phone, tablet or computer. If you want to use a smart TV or gaming console you will need a separate password. The sheltered housing team can let you know the password for your scheme.
