Notification of 2 or Less Machines
The holder of a premises licence under the Licensing Act 2003, can obtain an ‘automatic entitlement’ to a maximum of two gaming machines (each of which may be category C or D) for use on the premises.
The premises must:
- Be licensed under the Licensing Act 2003 to sell alcohol for consumption on the premises
- Not be subject to any licence requirements that alcohol is to be served only with food, and
- Have a bar for serving alcohol to customers on the premises.
There is no annual fee and the permit is of unlimited duration, however it will lapse if the premises licence holder ceases to hold the alcohol licence. The new premises licence holder will need to apply for a new notification.
Please complete the online application form. A notification fee of £50 is payable, and you will need a credit/debit card to make payment. There is no annual fee for this type of permission.
If it is intended to operate more than two gaming machines within the licensed premises, then a Licensed Premises Gaming Machine Permit must be obtained.
