Village Plan brings fun for families in South Wonston
Families in South Wonston have been enjoying a programme of Arts and crafts workshops thanks to their local Village Plan.
Southampton Scrapstore has run a number of sessions at the Village Hall for parents and children in the area; giving families the chance to try their hand at crafts such as glass painting and fabric collage design.
Turnout for the workshops has been high with families eager to enjoy quality time together and learn new creative skills. The popularity of the events in this rural community, has led the Scrapstore to organise further workshops during the summer holidays.
The next sessions will take place on Monday, 10th August (T-shirt design) and Monday, 17th August (mosaic clocks) from 10.00 - 12 noon.
The workshops came about after South Wonston Village Plan identified a need for more events and activities for children and families in the village. Winchester City Council’s Community Planning Team brought this to the attention of Southampton Scrapstore, which receives funding to run activities in this part of rural Hampshire.
