Central Winchester Regeneration update discussed at next meeting of City Council’s Informal Policy Group
An update on progress with the Central Winchester Regeneration project will take place at a meeting in public next week. The Informal Policy Group (IPG) takes place on Monday (25 September) from 6pm in the Bapsy Hall, Guildhall Winchester.
Councillors will hear about progress with the key project areas including the movement strategy, parking, archaeology and housing. They will also receive a timetable setting out the relevant council meetings, public meetings, and consultation and engagement dates for the draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
Representatives from JTP, the Architects and Masterplanners who are developing the SPD, will give a brief update on the progress with the draft SPD.
Cllr Caroline Horrill, Council Leader and Chair of the Informal Policy Group said:
The Central Winchester Regeneration project is all about creating a city centre which delivers for residents, business, the local economy and visitors. This meeting will give our officers and consultants the opportunity to update both Members and the public about the essential technical work that has been going on behind the scenes to make sure the SPD is both realistic and ambitious.
