Upcoming conference to share successes of council hoarding project
Winchester City Council is hosting an event to raise awareness of hoarding-related issues and encourage knowledge sharing between organisations involved in hoarding support.
The Hoarding Networking Conference, which takes place on Thursday 18 May, follows on from the success of a hoarding support pilot project trialled by the council during 2022.
The pilot project, which involved taking a person-centred approach to helping people with hoarding, has now been embedded into the council’s programme of tenant support.
The event will be a chance for attendees to learn more about the council’s programme, as well as to hear from keynote speakers including Jo Cooke from Hoarding Disorders UK CIC, and Jack Moore from Respect My Stuff.
The conference will also be a networking opportunity for organisations involved in supporting people who hoard, with the opportunity to meet others, and share learning and best practise.
A BSL Sign Language interpreter will also be present at the event and light refreshments will be provided.
