Odour Assessment Guidance
Our Odour Assessment Guidance document is there to assist developers, agents and their consultants where odour is a consideration for any development, for example where odour would be caused by a proposed development, or a proposed development would be exposed to odour from existing sources.
The guidance seeks to help developers and agents ensure that any odour assessments and subsequent report meet the council's expectations. If the advice given in this guidance is followed, it may help avoid situations which cause decisions on planning applications to be delayed or refused.
We recommend that developers liaise with us in the early stages of the planning process for any proposed development as we can help to determine risk of odour being a significant consideration, and identify what supporting details are likely to be required.
